Many of our patients play sports, so leading into summer seems like a good time to remind you all to take precautions to protect your beautiful smiles.
One of the most important pieces of sports equipment is your mouthguard. They’re super cheap, fitted just for you, and make you look pretty cool. Fitting one properly not only means that your friends wont try to use it, it also means that your teeth and jaw will be much more protected from injury when you’re making those big risky moves.
To compliment your mouth guard, there are a few additional things you can do:
- Wear a helmet, especially one with a face shield if you’re playing hockey
- Stretch beforehand to keep limber
- Be observant, even as a spectator
- Wear protective eyewear
Let us know if you have any questions about keeping your teeth safe during sports. Have fun!
